The Houston Museum of Fine Arts has invited me to give another talk on Indian Textiles in Texts. (The last one was standing room only! Thanks to all who came).
This talk is on Sat Aug 16, 10 a.m. at the Museum of Fine Arts, Beck Building. PLEASE SHARE THE INFO WITH FRIENDS. THANKS!
This time, we will be discussing some additional elements as well. Another speaker, Anushka Hosain, will be talking about the Persian translation of the Mahabharat--some pages from this text are in the museum.
The talk will be followed by a guided tour of the Parpia Textiles exhibit with master curator Amy Poster.
I know several of you were out of town last time; I hope you can attend this time.
It is a free talk, but the organizers require attendees to RSVP to esgarcia@mfah.org.
I think it will be a great cultural experience, for high school and college students, too, so if you know any students, please let them know and encourage them to come.
